Dear Reboot Friends and Colleagues,

Happy Summer! We hope you are enjoying it and finding time to RELAX!!

Today we are covering our next Reboot Your Life Retreat – which is the last before we take a sabbatical in 2024, a free webinar coming up July 27, a new exercise, and more.

LAST REBOOT YOUR LIFE RETREAT OF 2023 IN SAG HARBOR BEFORE OUR 2024 SABBATICAL

We are planning to take a sabbatical from our scheduled retreats in 2024. So the Sag Harbor Retreat at Jaye’s house the weekend of September 22-24, 2023, will be the last we hold for awhile. We encourage you to join us, and September is a great time of the year to be in the Hamptons….beautiful weather and fewer people. To register for the Reboot Retreat, use this LINK. ANNOUNCEMENT: Next year we are taking a hiatus in our scheduled retreats. We will go to a new, customized on-request model of retreat for self-formed groups. You plan the group and logistics and we will come to you to facilitate a Reboot Your Life Retreat customized for your group.

Contact us if you are interested in a customized retreat for your self-formed group!

SANTA FE REBOOT RETREAT REPORT

What a fabulous group we had at our May 5-7 Santa Fe Reboot Retreat! Most of the nine people stayed on Cathy’s property and two more came from town. The age range was 36 to 70+, and the career experience varied from a judge to a cardiologist to business and nonprofit executives to an international government commercial officer. And they were from all over the country.

The weather was perfect, so we sat outside and walked the trails as well as talked nonstop at the dinner tables. Great food and conversation. And a plan to get together soon (which they already have done via Zoom). The issues were about making successful transitions and balancing lives to negotiating for career advancement with your boss. A theme of simplicity and calmness, as well as spirituality, flowed through every conversation. It gave us ideas to add to our Retreat curriculum and exercises. We three were so grateful to meet these wonderful people and to learn from them as well as share our experiences.

AN EXERCISE FOR YOU – THE CIRCLE OF JOY

One of the new exercises we have added is the Circle of Joy. Like our Circle of Trust, it is three concentric circles where you put in the center what brings you most joy (your family, your art, walking in the woods, etc.) then what usually brings you joy (listening to music, going to a play, etc.) and then what sometimes brings you joy (going to a movie, going out to dinner, etc.). After you write your list, what’s missing? Are there things that you are NOT doing that would add to a happier, fuller life for you? Write them down. The point is to really think about joy in your life and how you can bring more of it into your life. Try it!

GREAT SUMMER READ: YOUR BRAIN ON ART: HOW THE ARTS TRANSFORM US

Our friend, Ivy Ross, Vice President for Design at Google Hardware and former executive at Calvin Klein, Mattel, Coach, and Gap, among others, as well as being #9 on Fast Company’s List of 100 Most creative People in Business in 2019, has a new book out, Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us, that she wrote with a neuroscientist, Susan Magsamen, PhD,  from Johns Hopkins. It is an excellent summer read!

Our books are Reboot Your Life and
The Retirement Boom,
plus A Journal for Inspiration.

We look forward to seeing you soon, hopefully at the free webinar July 27th and/or at the Sag Harbor Reboot Your Life retreat.

With warmest wishes,
